This thick and creamy avocado oats smoothie is perfect for breakfast or anytime snack. Not only is it packed with nutritious ingredients, it is super delicious!

Were you expecting another avocado post? Well, my last one had spinach in it, and I had no idea I’d be writing about avocado so soon after mentioning in that post that how crazy (read obsessed) I’m for these superfoods.

Well, there you go. Another post with one of the superfoods!

This creamy avocado oats smoothie is just in time for when you are looking for healthier recipes at the beginning for New Year.

Avocado Oats Smoothie

I can’t believe I could not bear the thought of eating a raw avocado only a few years ago.

When my son turned 18 months, he loved eating avocados. I used to feed him but never bothered to take a bite. I just never felt like.

Now, I gobble up a piece or two whenever I am making a recipe out of these delicious superfood.

I have come across so many versions of this smoothie, but I wanted to add another healthier ingredient. Since I use rolled oats in almost all of my smoothies, this was a no brainer. I top my smoothies with oats as well.

Avocado Oats Smoothie

After drinking this smoothie for number of times, I noticed that avocado has no particular flavor of it’s own. I added banana in this recipe, so banana flavor is prominent (which is super delicious). So it tastes just like a banana shake.

Sometimes I skip bananas and add 1 tsp vanilla extract. It tastes like vanilla ice cream. Actually even better than vanilla ice cream lol.

I normally drink it for breakfast on early mornings, or after workout sessions. One glass of this smoothie is so filling. I do not feel like having another meal for a few hours.
